Professional: Philip M Ruais' practice centers on the negotiation and drafting of documents for business, commercial and real estate transactions.  Philip represents and advises owners, landlords, tenants and developers in a range of complex transactions involving commercial property, residential property, business operation and business acquisition.  Philip has experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of project documents, including specialized business contracts, buy / sell agreements, commercial leases, employment agreements and stock purchase agreements.  Philip's practice also involves counseling clients on intellectual property matters involving copyrights and trademarks.

 

Realizing that avoiding litigation is not always an option, Philip emphasizes a cost effective, aggressive approach to represent clients in business and commercial litigation.

  • Represented largest Texas franchisee of multinational company in multi-franchise acquisition.
  • Represented tenants in the negotiation of long term commercial leases throughout Texas.
  • Represented landlord and attained $100,000 settlement for early lease termination agreement.
  • Represented seller in $1.6 Million undeveloped land transaction.

Personal: Philip is married to a Registered Nurse and is the father of two children.  Out of the office, Philip enjoys playing sports and attending sporting events with his family.  When not playing with his children, Philip enjoys rebuilding classic cars.
