Phillip M. Herr
Experience that Matters
Phillip M. Herr brings with him a lot of experience. As a former associate judge and a trial-tested lawyer, Phillip has experience from both sides of the courtroom. He uses this experience to his clients’ advantage, implementing proven negotiation and litigation strategies that are creative and proven effective. Before joining Dankesreiter & Emmet, LLP, Phillip had been an Associate Judge for Title IV-D Court #35 and had run his own practice in Flower Mound.
Background
After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a Degree in Economics, Mr. Herr enlisted in the Texas Army National Guard. This led to a nine-month tour of duty in Bosnia-Herzegovina during Operation Joint Guard where he was awarded two service medals. Throughout his military career, he was awarded six total medals of service overall. After his tour of duty, he completed his law degree at South Texas College of Law, located in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Herr speaks Spanish fluently. He has been speaking, reading, and writing Spanish for 19 years. This was re-enforced while attending a study abroad program in Mexico City at La Universidad Panamericana for a summer session during law school.
Experience
Mr. Herr was an Associate Judge for Title IV-D Court #35. Court #35 traveled through seven counties in the State of Texas. Additionally, Mr. Herr has been licensed to practice law for 21 years. Mr. Herr is experienced in the courtroom, ranging from contested trials to simple prove-ups. Mr. Herr is licensed to practice law in courts in the State of Texas, the United States Tax Court, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Education
Mr. Herr obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Economics. He acquired his law degree from South Texas College of Law, located in Houston, Texas.
