Sean Moloney grew up in Miami, Florida.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Florida International University in Miami and a Juris Doctorate decree from the Florida State University College of Law in 2002.

During his free time, he enjoys hikes with his wife, Raquel, and his dog, Sparky.  He also enjoys learning about his new home here in North Texas and is always looking for either new Tex-Mex or Asian food restaurants.

Background

Prior to attending law school, Sean worked for the Florida International University Marine Biology Laboratory raising redfish in support of Florida’s efforts to restock Biscayne Bay’s population with hatchery-grown fish.

While in law school, Sean clerked for the Florida Attorney General’s Office of Special Project defending the State of Florida in a decades-long litigation asserting inverse condemnation over Gulf of Mexico leasehold drilling rights.

Experience

Sean was admitted to practice law in Florida in 2003 and is admitted to practice in the Middle, Northern and Southern Districts of Florida.  He was admitted to practice law in Texas in 2021.  He has extensive experience in representing secured creditors in foreclosure and post-judgment collection matters in both state and federal bankruptcy courts.  Recently, he had sole operational responsibility for the Miami branch of a Boston-based international commercial litigation firm and successfully defended that firm in an employment law case.  He maintains membership in the State Bar of Texas in the Bankruptcy Law Section.  He also maintains membership in the State Bar of Florida in the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law sections and is a member of the Florida Bar’s Substantive Law Committee for Eminent Domain practice.
